Sri Lanka, Oct. 6 -- The "Protection of State from Terrorism Bill" was presented to Parliament today.

The proposed legislation seeks to repeal the "Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA)", which was enacted in 1979, and introduce a new legal framework to address terrorism-related offences.
