Mumbai, July 4 -- Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology has accelerated the deployment of hybrid and electric-drive technologies across its construction, mining and agricultural equipment portfolio, recognising five key innovations at its seventh Science and Technology Innovation Conference.
The technologies include hybrid power systems for high-horsepower tractors, electric-drive and intelligent control systems for heavy equipment, distributed electric-drive technology for mobile cranes, all-electric-drive systems for combine harvesters, and hybrid system patents for next-generation agricultural machinery.
The company said it has developed a dedicated new-energy technology platform covering battery-electric, hybrid and hydrogen fuel-cell powertrains, along with battery-swapping and plug-in charging solutions. Zoomlion developed nearly 60 new-energy products in 2025 and currently offers a portfolio of 240 such products.
Among the new technologies, the company's hybrid wheat harvester delivers around 30 per cent fuel savings, while its hybrid tractor reduces fuel consumption by approximately 8 per cent through improved energy management. Chassis-by-wire technology has also been deployed in unmanned mining trucks to enhance safety and operational efficiency.
"Our team sees this recognition as both validation and motivation to continue solving technical challenges in demanding operating environments," said Ou Biao, Director of the Vehicle Control Institute at Zoomlion New Energy Technology Company.
Zoomlion said it will continue expanding its portfolio of new-energy equipment while working closely with customers to develop products suited to diverse operating conditions worldwide.
