Mumbai, Oct. 1 -- Uttar Pradesh aims to increase its annual exports from around Rs. 2 tn to Rs. 5 tn by 2030, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said at the UP International Trade Show in Greater Noida on Sunday. He said the state's entrepreneurs would gain greater access to international markets as India expanded its network of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).

The minister said major corporations and international investors were entering Uttar Pradesh across sectors, creating employment and supporting industrial growth. He also highlighted the contribution of modern technology, international enterprises and the expanding craftsmanship and technical skills of the state's youth to its economic development.

The trade show was described as an avenue for businesses to connect directly with global markets and promote Uttar Pradesh's products, cuisines and services internationally. The event featured six partner countries, hundreds of delegates and exhibitors, and buyer-seller meetings intended to create commercial opportunities for local businesses.

Goyal also pointed to expressways, modern airports and industrial parks as strengthening the state's connectivity and industrial infrastructure. He cited Uttar Pradesh's growing presence in defence, semiconductors, electronics and other high-technology sectors, along with the expansion of a large robotics manufacturing facility in Greater Noida. He said the next phase of development would focus on exports, international investment, tourism and global recognition for brands from the state, requiring coordination between central and state governments and participation from citizens, youth and industry stakeholders.
