Mumbai, June 27 -- thyssenkrupp AG and GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company, have recently formed a strategic alliance to deploy autonomous robotics and Physical AI across heavy industry operations. The partnership aims to improve safety, reduce engineering bottlenecks and accelerate industrial transformation at scale.
The alliance brings together thyssenkrupp's industrial expertise with Hitachi's innovation capabilities. It includes GlobalLogic, Method and Hitachi America R&D, creating a "Lab-to-Scale" pipeline that connects research, digital strategy, design and enterprise software engineering for industrial applications.
The partnership will focus on a data intelligence layer and autonomous operations. GlobalLogic will deploy its Unified Data Layer architecture to integrate operational technology data from field environments with business data. This will support real-time data processing, semantic understanding and AI-driven decision-making for autonomous robotics and drones.
thyssenkrupp plans to use autonomous Robocams and drones for high-risk inspections and precision measurements at hazardous production sites. These systems are expected to support frontline workers by reducing exposure to dangerous zones and improving access to reliable operational data.
The alliance will also support decarbonisation projects by automating the capture and interpretation of complex technical data. By converting unstructured documentation into actionable intelligence, the partners aim to shorten engineering and quote-to-cash cycles for green energy projects.
