Mumbai, July 6 -- Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy announced the development of aviation infrastructure projects in Warangal, Adilabad and Kothagudem as Telangana seeks to strengthen its position as a leading aerospace and defence hub. The announcement came during the opening of the second edition of Aeromart Hyderabad where he outlined the state's long-term commitment to the aerospace sector and plans to support industrial growth. He highlighted Hyderabad's growing role in advanced manufacturing and in global aerospace and defence supply chains.
Dr G. Satheesh Reddy, member of the National Security Advisory Board and former chairman of the Defence Research and Development Organisation, set out how India's progress in manufacturing, exports and innovation had created new opportunities and placed the country in a stronger position internationally. He described Hyderabad as an established aerospace and defence ecosystem well placed to play a leading role in global supply chains. Senior industry and diplomatic representatives attended the ceremony, underlining interest from international partners.
Aeromart Hyderabad is organised around direct business engagement between manufacturers, suppliers and stakeholders and is intended to facilitate commercial ties and industrial partnerships. Participants are scheduled to attend more than 8,000 pre-arranged meetings, networking sessions and discussions during the three-day event to explore opportunities across aerospace, defence and space sectors. The edition has attracted more than 500 companies and 2,000 delegates from over 25 countries.
Representatives from major global firms and consular offices were present at the opening, signalling a focus on procurement and collaboration, and state officials outlined support measures for industry expansion. The expanded infrastructure plans for Warangal, Adilabad and Kothagudem are framed as part of a strategy to deepen the regional manufacturing base and integrate local suppliers into international value chains.
