Mumbai, July 28 -- Suzlon Energy will supply and install the Waaree Group's maiden wind power project in Andhra Pradesh after securing a 201.6 megawatt (MW) order from Waaree Forever Energies (WFEPL), the group's independent power producer arm. The contract marks the first utility-scale wind venture by the Waaree Group and assigns Suzlon responsibility for delivering the project under an engineering, procurement and construction arrangement. The announcement positions both companies to advance renewable capacity in the region.
Under the contract Suzlon will deploy 64 wind turbine generators (WTG) of its S144 model, each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW, bringing total installed capacity to 201.6 MW. The S144 platform is presented as the company's flagship onshore solution designed for higher yield in low and medium wind regimes. Turbine supply and erection form the central element of the scope.
Suzlon's scope covers land acquisition, turbine supply, balance of plant works, commissioning and lifetime operations and maintenance. Waaree Forever Energies will act as the project owner while Suzlon will execute the end-to-end delivery, including grid interconnection preparations and site works. The companies framed the order as a strategic step in Waaree Group's entry into utility scale wind generation.
The project is located in Andhra Pradesh and will contribute to the local renewable energy capacity once commissioned. No financial details or commissioning timeline were disclosed in the release.
