Mumbai, Sept. 16 -- Shakti Pumps has unveiled its patented next-generation S4RM pumps and advanced pumping solutions at IFAT Mumbai 2026, targeting improved energy efficiency, reliability and performance across agriculture, water management and industrial applications.

The key highlight is the Shakti Slip Start Synchronous Run Motor (S4RM), a patented line-start synchronous motor that combines features of induction and permanent magnet synchronous motor technologies. The motor operates without a Variable Frequency Drive and can replace conventional induction motors in compatible applications.

According to the company, S4RM offers 5-10% higher runtime efficiency than conventional induction motors, reduces starting current by up to 50% and delivers a power factor close to unity. It also provides higher starting torque and maintains consistent discharge under voltage fluctuations and low-voltage conditions.

The technology is available for both surface and submersible motor-pump applications.

"At Shakti Pumps, our focus has always been on developing technologies that deliver measurable value to customers through higher efficiency, reliability and lower operating costs," said Ankit Patidar, CMO, Shakti Pumps.

He added that the company is combining S4RM motor technology with precision stainless-steel fabrication to address evolving requirements across water, agriculture and industrial applications.

Shakti Pumps also showcased pump components manufactured using SS304 and SS316 stainless steel sheet fabrication. The company said precision cutting and forming can improve dimensional consistency, reduce weight and enhance strength-to-weight ratios compared with conventional cast components.

Optimised impeller geometry and flow passages are designed to reduce vibration and mechanical losses while improving energy efficiency. According to Shakti Pumps, these features can contribute to up to 40% higher discharge in suitable applications.

The company said SS304 and SS316 materials also offer improved corrosion resistance, with SS316 designed for more demanding environments involving chlorides and mineral-rich water.

In comparative performance data shared by Shakti Pumps, a 7.5 kW S4RM motor records efficiency of around 91.5%. In a 22 kW application, S4RM efficiency is stated at around 90%, compared with approximately 82% for a conventional induction motor.

Through its IFAT Mumbai 2026 showcase, Shakti Pumps is positioning its portfolio around energy-efficient pumping, sustainable water management and lower lifecycle energy consumption across irrigation, water supply and industrial fluid-transfer applications.
