Mumbai, July 15 -- RMC Switchgears Limited has received a letter of award from MAHAVITRAN, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, for a contract valued at Rs 236.37 million (mn).

The award covers the design, manufacture and supply of off?grid direct current solar photovoltaic water pumping systems of three, five and seven point five horsepower (HP) capacity at identified farmer sites in districts of Maharashtra.

The scope of work includes transport, installation, testing and commissioning, together with a complete system warranty and repair and maintenance obligations. The contract also requires deployment of a Remote Monitoring System (RMS) for five years to enable operations oversight.

The company said the receipt of the letter of award strengthens its order book and is expected to contribute positively to revenue and growth prospects, and that it will update the stock exchanges on any material developments as required under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements. The engagement is with a domestic public distribution utility and does not involve related party interests. The disclosed time frame for execution of the contract is five years.

The company will remain responsible for warranty and maintenance obligations throughout the period and for adherence to the terms set out by the awarding authority. The disclosure was filed with the stock exchanges pursuant to applicable listing regulations and related master circular guidance. The company will oversee project management and compliance with technical standards.
