Mumbai, Oct. 1 -- LiqTech International will support wastewater reuse at Water Works Industrial Services' (WWIS) new facility in Freeport, Texas, using its QureFlow QF-6 ceramic membrane filtration system.

The system is expected to recover more than 95 per cent of incoming wastewater for reuse as wash water, helping reduce freshwater consumption and wastewater disposal volumes.

WWIS cleans industrial equipment used across facilities in the Texas Gulf Coast region, including heat exchangers, tower trays, mesh pads, vane packs and other process equipment. The cleaning process removes contaminants such as scale and oil residue, resulting in wastewater with varying compositions.

The QF-6 system is being incorporated into the original design of the new facility to return most of the treated water to the wash-water supply. WWIS already uses ceramic ultrafiltration at its Geismar facility in Louisiana.

The system is expected to handle an incoming wastewater flow of approximately 150-200 US gallons per minute, although WWIS has yet to establish the average feed rate. Filtered water will be returned directly to washing operations.

Removing suspended solids before reuse is also expected to reduce the risk of particles blocking nozzles used in the cleaning equipment.

Brett Bourne, Chemical & Environmental Processes Manager at WWIS, said, "By returning treated water to our washing operations, we expect to reduce our freshwater requirements and the amount of wastewater we need to dispose of, while reducing the risk of solids blocking our wash nozzles."

Fei Chen, President and Chief Executive Officer of LiqTech, said the project demonstrates how the QureFlow platform can be integrated into industrial water-management systems to support repeated reuse.

LiqTech first announced the order in August 2026. The company said the project supports its strategy of expanding the QureFlow platform beyond produced water treatment into industrial applications where wastewater variability, reliability and water reuse are key requirements.
