
Mumbai, Aug. 28 -- Kshema Power has secured an order from a leading independent power producer to build transmission infrastructure for a 315 megawatt (MW) wind power project in Karnataka. The contract covers supply, civil works and commissioning of approximately 33 kilometre (km) of 220 kilovolt (kV) single-circuit transmission line on double-circuit towers and multi-circuit towers, together with associated unit substations and 33 kV transmission line infrastructure. The company did not disclose the identity of the independent power producer that awarded the contract.
The scope includes procurement of required approvals for high-voltage transmission, substation infrastructure, electrical balance of plant, civil works, erection and commissioning, the company said in a statement. The Managing Director said the project reflected the firm's commitment to building infrastructure that enables renewable energy to move from generation to consumption efficiently and reliably. The integrated assignment will test and further strengthen Kshema Power's capabilities as an end-to-end engineering, procurement and construction partner for large-scale renewable projects.
Kshema Power said it has executed over 5.2 gigawatt (GW) of renewable energy infrastructure globally, including 4,500 MW plus of wind engineering, procurement and construction, some 2,000 km plus of power transmission lines and about 2,400 megavolt-ampere (MVA) of substation capacity. The delivery record spans wind farms, transmission corridors and substation projects and underpins the company's positioning in the renewable sector. The new order adds to a pipeline of transmission contracts that the company is pursuing across southern India.
The company statement did not specify the project timetable or financial value of the contract. Market participants and the procuring firm were not named in the disclosure. Kshema Power said the integrated contract will cover handover in phased stages following approvals and testing, and that work has been planned to commence following receipt of statutory clearances.
