Mumbai, Oct. 27 -- KLK Ventures has secured a work order from the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), a Punjab Government undertaking, to design, supply, install and commission 7,968 solar photovoltaic (SPV) street lighting systems across Gram Panchayats in Punjab. The project is intended to expand access to renewable-powered lighting in rural communities and support the state's clean energy objectives.

The order covers 7,003 systems with poles and 965 systems without poles, according to site requirements outlined by PEDA. Each installation will feature a 12-watt LED light, along with Remote Monitoring Systems (RMS) and geo-tagging facilities to support operational tracking, maintenance and verification of the deployed assets.

KLK Ventures will also provide a five-year comprehensive warranty and annual maintenance support for the installed infrastructure. Its responsibilities include carrying out the installation and commissioning work in accordance with PEDA's terms and conditions across the designated rural locations.

The order forms part of PEDA's broader programme to address demand for approximately 50,000 solar street lights across Gram Panchayats in Punjab. The agency allocated project quantities based on consolidated requirements received from the Department of Rural Development and Panchayats and district administrations after inviting eligible bidders to participate in the process.

The installations are expected to improve visibility after sunset along village roads and public spaces while reducing reliance on conventional electricity for street lighting. By combining solar photovoltaic technology with LED fixtures, remote monitoring and geo-tagging, the project gives KLK Ventures an end-to-end role covering design, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance. The order also reflects the increasing use of decentralised solar systems for public infrastructure as government agencies promote energy efficiency and renewable services in rural areas.
