Mumbai, Sept. 26 -- The Haryana government has prepared a proposal to acquire around 107 acres of land for constructing missing 24-metre-wide internal roads in sectors 81 to 86 and Sector 104 of Gurugram. The acquisition forms the first phase of a wider plan covering roads across sectors 58 to 115.
A joint site inspection committee (JSIC), constituted on the directions of J Ganesan, director general of the Department of Town and Country Planning, identified the land pockets required for the roads. The proposal will be sent to higher authorities for approval before acquisition proceedings begin.
The proposed acquisition includes 6 acres from Gurgaon and Dhanwapur villages for Sector 104, 16 acres from Lakhanola and Nawada Fatehpur for Sector 81, and 15 acres from Lakhanola, Manesar and Shikohpur for Sector 81A. Sector 82 requires 3 acres, while Sector 82A requires 11 acres from surrounding villages.
Sector 83 will require 16 acres from Shikohpur, Kherki Daula and Sihi, while 17 acres from Sihi, Bamdoli and Badha have been identified for Sector 84. The plan also includes 11 acres for Sector 85 and 12 acres for Sector 86, with land identified in Badha, Sikandarpur Badha and Nawada Fatehpur.
Under the Gurgaon-Manesar Master Plan 2031, developers were responsible for building 24-metre internal sector roads within licensed areas. Several roads, however, remained incomplete because of legal disputes and the unavailability of land. A Department of Town and Country Planning survey found that 1,158 acres would be needed for roads across sectors 58 to 115.
The JSIC has been directed to submit a technical proposal-cum-feasibility report to the Chief Administrator of Haryana Shahri Vikas Pradhikaran in Panchkula. The initial acquisition will be funded through the Department of Town and Country Planning's external development charges budget, while funding for the remaining parcels will be decided later.
