
Mumbai, Sept. 3 -- Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) inaugurated an eight megawatt (MW) ground-mounted solar photovoltaic plant at Panchet. The facility was dedicated on August 31, 2026, by Rajesh Pandey, IAS, the chairman of the corporation. The commissioning marks a milestone in the utility's renewable energy expansion and clean energy transition. The installation uses utility scale arrays and standard grid interconnection equipment to deliver generation into the local network.
The project adds renewable generation capacity to DVC's portfolio and reflects the organisation's focus on increasing clean energy deployment across its network. It is expected to contribute to cleaner power generation and support sustainable development objectives in the region. The plant's ground-mounted design and photovoltaic technology are intended to provide dependable output to local distribution points. Project execution followed standard procurement and commissioning protocols and involved coordination with local grid authorities.
The Panchet installation aligns with the broader national push to expand renewable energy capacity and to accelerate India's transition towards a greener power sector.
