Mumbai, Nov. 6 -- DLF has awarded a Rs. 3.25 bn contract for a flyover and four underpasses aimed at easing congestion between Ambience Mall and Cyber City in Gurugram. The project has received approvals from the Haryana government and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and construction will begin after approval of a traffic management plan.
The flyover will connect the Ambience Mall end of the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway with Cyber City, allowing vehicles to bypass congestion near Moulsari Avenue and Shankar Chowk. It will run from Sirhaul Border to Cyber City along the Delhi-to-Jaipur side of the expressway, parallel to the existing highway flyover and above the service road.
The project also includes an underpass linking Moulsari Avenue with the Delhi-bound carriageway of the expressway. Three additional underpasses will connect DLF developments with Moulsari Avenue, while motorists using the U-turn underpass near Ambience Mall will be able to access Cyber City and Iffco Chowk through the new flyover.
DLF is preparing a traffic management plan to limit disruption during construction. The plan is expected to be completed within a month and must be approved by the traffic police and local authorities before work begins. Construction is scheduled to take 18 months.
The Sirhaul Border-Shankar Chowk corridor is one of the busiest sections of the expressway, with heavy traffic during morning and evening peak hours. A DLF-commissioned study in August 2025 recorded traffic of 52,700 passenger car units (PCUs) per hour on the Delhi stretch, above its design capacity. It also reported 13,000 to 16,000 PCUs per hour on the Udyog Vihar-Cyber City corridor and 20,800 PCUs per hour at the Moulsari Avenue junction. The study recommended grade-separated infrastructure to reduce conflicting traffic movements. NHAI has made implementation of an approved traffic plan a condition for each construction stage.
