Mumbai, Nov. 5 -- Adani Group-backed Cemindia Projects has secured a Rs. 6.66 bn civil works contract for the Bengaluru Suburban Transport Project. The award covers Package 1 of the Mallige Line, or Corridor 2, and was issued by the Karnataka Rail Infrastructure Development Company (K-RIDE) through a Letter of Acceptance on October 29, 2026. The contract excludes GST and has a completion period of 24 months.
The project involves constructing a 7.795-km elevated viaduct, ramps, a double-decker rail-cum-road flyover and a station at Mathikere. The scope also includes road flyover ramps, a Y-loop ramp, foot overbridges, multimodal integration facilities and related infrastructure between Benniganahalli and Shettihalli.
A 1.2-km double-decker structure will be built along Mohan Kumar Road between Mathikere and Yeshwanthpur. The upper level will carry the elevated suburban railway, while the lower level will function as a road flyover. The design is intended to address right-of-way constraints in the densely developed area, with additional works planned at Hebbal, Shettihalli and Yeshwanthpur.
K-RIDE is a special purpose vehicle of the Union and Karnataka governments implementing the 148-km Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project. The Mallige Line runs from Benniganahalli to Chikkabanavara, and all its civil works packages have now been awarded. Cemindia Projects was formerly known as ITD Cementation India.
K-RIDE has also awarded Package 1 of Corridor 4, or the Kanaka Line, to the RNS-GPL joint venture for Rs. 3.42 bn. The package includes 6.2 km of at-grade formation and 3.6 km of elevated viaduct between Benniganahalli and Jakkur. Package 2, covering a 13-km at-grade section between Heelalige and Bellandur, was awarded to RNS Infrastructure for Rs. 1.69 bn. Two of the four civil works packages under Corridor 4 have therefore been awarded, with tenders for the remaining packages to follow.
