Mumbai, Aug. 28 -- Brahmaputra Infrastructure (the Company) has executed and signed an agreement for a contract valued at Rs 701.8 million (mn) awarded by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways for operation and maintenance of the NH-502A corridor in Mizoram. The scope covers routine and monsoon maintenance along the corridor. It encompasses scheduled upkeep and emergency repairs during the monsoon period to preserve road usability.

The NH-502A corridor traverses southern Mizoram and links the Myanmar border with Lawngtlai, representing one of the most remote and strategically significant stretches in India's north?east. The route passes through challenging topography and limited existing infrastructure, which increases logistical complexity. The terrain requires specialised equipment and seasonal access planning to sustain operations.

Execution of the contract requires the establishment of local infrastructure including plant, machinery, manpower, temporary camps and logistics support to operate effectively in difficult terrain. The Company will need to mobilise equipment and staff, and to plan for monsoon contingency measures to protect road assets. Employment of local labour and coordination with regional contractors are expected to form part of mobilisation to improve responsiveness.

The operational presence created by this engagement is expected to provide the Company with a durable competitive advantage and to position it favourably for future infrastructure works in the India?Myanmar border belt undertaken by the Border Roads Organisation, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, public works departments and other road agencies. The contract therefore represents both an immediate service obligation and a strategic foothold for subsequent opportunities. The Company will proceed with mobilisation and implementation in accordance with the tender terms. The arrangement aims to aid timely maintenance and strengthen regional connectivity.
