Mumbai, Oct. 7 -- Blue Dart Express has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) to explore express parcel movement on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor.
The collaboration will examine how Blue Dart's pickup and delivery network can use the regional rail corridor to serve businesses and customers across the National Capital Region. Both organisations will assess operational requirements, parcel volumes, station facilities, service standards and commercial arrangements to determine the feasibility of the model.
The 82-km Namo Bharat corridor connects Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut. Sarai Kale Khan station is connected to Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station and the inter-state bus terminal, while Anand Vihar station connects with Anand Vihar railway station and two inter-state bus terminals.
The proposed model would combine semi-high-speed regional rail movement with Blue Dart's existing pickup and delivery services, subject to operational feasibility and mutually agreed arrangements.
"Namo Bharat is a strategic intervention to transform the regional connectivity across the National Capital Region and help reduce vehicular congestion and air pollution," said Shalabh Goel, Managing Director, NCRTC.
Pablo Ciano, CEO, DHL eCommerce Division, said the collaboration provides an opportunity to examine how regional rail connectivity could strengthen logistics services for customers in the NCR.
Balfour Manuel, Managing Director, Blue Dart Express, said the MoU would help evaluate how Namo Bharat's connectivity could be integrated with the company's pickup and delivery capabilities while supporting more sustainable logistics solutions.
The initiative forms part of Blue Dart's efforts to strengthen its integrated transportation network and explore new logistics models aligned with evolving customer requirements.
