Mumbai, Oct. 29 -- ARSS Infrastructure Projects said its joint venture, ARSS SCPL JV, has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract valued at Rs. 2.4 bn from East Central Railway. The project involves railway doubling works in Jharkhand and forms part of the Koderma-Arigada railway doubling initiative.

The contract covers a 29.5-km railway stretch between Kathuatia and Hazaribagh Town stations in the Dhanbad Division. The work is intended to add a second railway line along the identified section and includes the construction and installation activities required for the upgraded corridor.

The scope includes earthwork, track formation and blanketing, along with major and minor bridges. It also covers road overbridges, road underbridges, limited-height subways, track laying, platforms, station buildings and foot overbridges. Associated infrastructure will be designed to support 25-t axle loading.

The joint venture received the work order on 17 October 2026, while the contract award was disclosed to stock exchanges on 23 October 2026. The project is scheduled for completion within 730 days from the appointed date, according to the company's announcement.

The railway doubling project is expected to increase capacity on the section and improve the movement of trains through the region. It is also intended to support operational efficiency and strengthen freight and passenger connectivity between the stations covered by the contract. The works will require coordination across civil construction, track installation, bridge development and station-related infrastructure.

The award adds to ARSS Infrastructure Projects' railway construction activities and gives the company's joint venture responsibility for a broad package of civil and railway works. Implementation will include the development of permanent structures and operating facilities needed to integrate the doubled line into the existing railway network. East Central Railway will oversee the project as the awarding authority.
