Mumbai, Nov. 2 -- Adani Airport Holdings (AAHL) has partnered with Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) to develop eight hotels with more than 2,000 rooms across Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Guwahati. The agreement expands AAHL's strategy of developing airports as broader commercial hubs combining aviation, hospitality, retail and other urban services.

The properties will operate under IHCL's Taj, Vivanta, Gateway and Ginger brands. The portfolio will include three Taj hotels, two Vivanta properties, one Gateway hotel and two Ginger hotels, with AAHL responsible for developing the properties and IHCL managing their operations.

Mumbai airport's Terminal 2 will house a Taj property. Lucknow will receive one Vivanta and one Ginger hotel, while Ahmedabad will have a Taj and a Vivanta property. Guwahati will have a Taj, a Gateway and a Ginger hotel. Together, the hotels will provide accommodation, dining, meetings and events, wellness and recreational facilities.

The partnership forms part of AAHL's plans for integrated airport cities incorporating hospitality, retail, entertainment, convention facilities and commercial infrastructure. Adani Airport City, a subsidiary of AAHL, has outlined plans to develop more than 655 acres across eight airports in seven states, including nearly 440 acres in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The first phase involves investment of more than Rs. 200 bn to develop approximately 22 mn sq ft across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur and Guwahati.

With the IHCL agreement, AAHL has partnered with hotel brands for 15 hotels across its airport network. In May, it announced a separate agreement with IHG Hotels & Resorts for five hotels adding close to 1,500 rooms and introducing IHG's Kimpton brand to India. AAHL operates airports in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Jaipur, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram and Navi Mumbai.
