New Delhi, April 21 -- Apple is entering a new leadership chapter. In a major succession move announced on April 20, Apple said Tim Cook will step down as CEO on September 1, 2026, and take over as executive chairman of the board. John Ternus, currently Apple's senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, will become the company's next chief executive officer. The decision, Apple said, follows a long-term succession process approved unanimously by its board.
