New Delhi, March 30 -- OpenAI shut down its standalone video generation app Sora on March 24, 2026, without providing an official reason at the time of announcement. The product had initially gained attention after its February 2024 debut, which showcased high-quality AI-generated video clips.

The official Sora account posted on X: "We're saying goodbye to the Sora app. To everyone who created with Sora, shared it, and built community around it: thank you. What you made with Sora mattered, and we know this news is disappointing."
