New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- Proofpoint is expanding its presence in India as organisations accelerate AI adoption and face growing cybersecurity, data privacy and sovereignty requirements. The company said its India business has tripled over the past 12 months, while protected seats have increased by more than 600% over the past 18 months.

The expansion includes a new AI Security Engineering Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad, plans to hire more than 200 engineers over the next 12 to 24 months, and a new Delhi office. Proofpoint is also expanding its data security capabilities in India to help organisations address requirements associated with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) and data localisation.
