New Delhi, Sept. 9 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address at the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai on September 8. Modi used UPI's growth to underline how far India's fintech ecosystem has come. But he also made it clear that the sector cannot remain focused on transaction volumes. As financial services become more dependent on data, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure, trust and consumer protection will become just as important as scale.
