New Delhi, Oct. 2 -- The PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) scheme has supported 26.59 lakh electric vehicle (EV) sales as of June 2026, the Ministry of Heavy Industries said on October 1, 2026. The scheme will now run until March 31, 2028, with its total outlay increased to Rs.11,900 crore.

The government notified the scheme on September 29, 2024, with an outlay of Rs.10,900 crore for two years. It came into effect on October 1, 2024. The scheme aims to accelerate EV adoption, expand charging infrastructure and strengthen domestic EV manufacturing.
