New Delhi, July 15 -- OpenAI's AI coding assistant Codex has crossed 8 million weekly active users, marking one of the company's fastest-growing developer products to date and underscoring the growing enterprise demand for AI-powered software development tools.

The milestone comes just days after OpenAI launched GPT-5.6 and integrated the standalone Codex application into the ChatGPT desktop app alongside the introduction of ChatGPT Work, its new agentic workspace for knowledge workers.
