New Delhi, Sept. 23 -- OpenAI has introduced GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna, expanding the GPT-6 family shortly after the launch of its flagship GPT-6 Astra. But unlike a release built primarily around pushing benchmark scores higher, Sol and Luna make the economics of using advanced AI a central part of the pitch.

OpenAI has cut API prices for both models by 50% compared with the promotional pricing of their GPT-5.6 predecessors.

GPT-6 Sol costs $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, down from $4 and $20 respectively for GPT-5.6 Sol.

GPT-6 Luna goes considerably lower. Input tokens cost $0.10 per million, compared with $0.20 previously, while output pricing falls from $1.20 to $0.50 per million tokens.
