New Delhi, Aug. 16 -- Ola Electric has expanded its Shakti portfolio beyond home batteries to cover commercial, industrial and utility-scale applications. The range now includes Shakti Gen2 for homes, Shakti Rack for businesses and Mahashakti for larger energy storage projects.

The move gives Ola another market for its battery technology at a time when its electric two-wheeler business is facing weaker volumes.

Energy storage can serve a different purpose from the batteries used in electric vehicles. Storage systems can hold electricity from the grid or renewable sources and make it available later, including during outages or periods of higher demand.
