New Delhi, July 13 -- Meta has withdrawn a newly launched artificial intelligence feature on Instagram that allowed users to generate AI images using content from public Instagram accounts, following criticism over privacy and user consent.

The feature was part of Muse Image, an AI image generation tool developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs. It enabled users to create AI-generated images by referencing public Instagram profiles through simple @mentions, allowing the model to use publicly available images as creative inputs.
