New Delhi, Sept. 24 -- India's expanding data centre capacity is creating demand for workers beyond traditional technology roles, even as overall tech-related hiring has weakened in recent months, according to new data from Indeed Hiring Lab.

Data centre-related job postings accounted for 1.3% of all job postings on Indeed in India in August, up from 1% a year earlier and nearly double the share recorded two years ago. The trend comes as growing AI adoption drives demand for larger data centre infrastructure.

KPMG has estimated that data centres could represent a $90 billion opportunity for India by 2035, according to Indeed.
