New Delhi, April 29 -- ICICI Bank has rolled out biometric authentication for UPI transactions on its iMobile mobile banking application, allowing users to approve payments using fingerprint or facial recognition for transactions up to Rs.5,000.

The feature eliminates the need to manually enter a UPI PIN for smaller transactions, aiming to improve both speed and security of digital payments. For transactions above Rs.5,000, users will continue to authenticate payments using their UPI PIN.
