New Delhi, July 27 -- A global shortage of 4.8 million cybersecurity professionals is leaving organisations increasingly vulnerable to cyber threats, even as artificial intelligence (AI) reshapes cyber defence, according to the Global Cybersecurity Skills Gap Report 2025 released by the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) recently.

The report estimates global demand for cybersecurity professionals at 10.2 million, against an active workforce of 5.5 million, exposing 67% of organisations to heightened cyber risk due to talent shortages.
