New Delhi, March 24 -- NPCI BHIM Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of National Payments Corporation of India, has introduced biometric authentication for UPI payments on the BHIM Payments App.
The new feature allows users to approve transactions of up to Rs.5,000 using fingerprint or facial recognition on smartphones that support these capabilities. Transactions above Rs.5,000 will continue to require authentication through the UPI PIN and the feature is currently available on both Android and iOS devices.
