85% Of Indian Procurement Functions Are Using AI As Workloads Rise, Procol Finds
New Delhi, Sept. 1 -- Artificial intelligence is moving deeper into India's procurement function as enterprises face an 8% increase in workloads without a corresponding rise in headcount, according to Procol's State of Procurement in India 2026 report.
The report, based on Procol's platform data covering more than $20 billion in managed spend and research from The Hackett Group, Deloitte, WTW and Aon, found that 85% of enterprise procurement functions are either piloting or using AI. However, only 14% of procurement leaders believe their teams have the skills to use AI safely or respond when systems go wrong.
