US treasury yields ease as oil prices tumble
Mumbai, Aug. 24 -- The US treasury yields eased today as oil prices tanked after recent gains. Debt market investors also looked ahead to Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's keynote speech at Jackson Hole this week against to get cues on inflation and likely US monetary policy trajectory. Yields on the 10-year Treasury note - the main benchmark for mortgages, auto loans and credit card debt eased marginally at 4.71%. The 30-year Treasury note yield also dropped slightly to 5.24%, holding below its two-decade high. WTI Crude oil futures corrected around 2% to trade at $85.27 per barrel after rising around 5% in last week.
