Mumbai, Oct. 14 -- The US Treasury yields eased modestly yesterday. The US 10-year bond yield fell around 5 basis points to 5.19% amid lower oil prices. Market is eying US economic data with September inflation figures due this week. However, yields are still holding around two-decade high. IMF has noted yesterday that in the United States, interest payments are projected to climb from about 2.8 percent of GDP before the pandemic to 5.7 percent in 2031, roughly equal to projected expenditure on Social Security, the largest single entitlement program.
