Mumbai, Oct. 26 -- The High Court of Kenya, in an order dated 23 October 2026, ruled that it lacked jurisdiction over the dispute and could not take further steps in the matter, Tata Chemicals said in an exchange filing dated 24 October 2026. Kenyan media reported that the case fell under the jurisdiction of the Environment and Land Court. The order did not resolve the underlying regulatory dispute.

TCML is examining the order and will take legal and other necessary steps, the company said. A technical committee led by Kenya's Principal Secretary for Mining and TCML's chief executive officer is separately reviewing the outstanding issues and will submit its report to the Cabinet Secretary for further direction.
