Mumbai, July 14 -- State governments raised Rs 24,570.05 crore through the auction of State Government Securities (SGS) on Tuesday against a notified amount of Rs 24,800 crore. Maharashtra emerged as the largest borrower, while Punjab accepted a lower amount than the notified amount for one of its securities.

Maharashtra raised Rs 10,600 crore through six re-issued securities. The state borrowed Rs 800 crore through the re-issue of the 7.35% Maharashtra SGS 2031 at a cut-off price of Rs 101.22, translating into a yield of 7.0383%.

It also raised Rs 2,200 crore through the re-issue of the 7.55% Maharashtra SGS 2034 at a cut-off price of Rs 100.87 and a yield of 7.3979%.
