States raise Rs 24,100 crore through SGS auction; Andhra Pradesh and Telangana lead borrowing
Mumbai, June 2 -- State governments and Union Territories collectively raised Rs 24,100 crore through the auction of State Government Securities (SGS) on Tuesday. Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Jammu & Kashmir participated in the borrowing programme.
Andhra Pradesh emerged as the largest borrower, raising Rs 4,400 crore through two securities. The state raised Rs 2,200 crore through a 12-year security at a cut-off yield of 7.86%.
It also raised Rs 2,200 crore through the re-issue of the 8.07% Andhra Pradesh SGS 2051 at a cut-off price of Rs 102.05, corresponding to a yield of 7.8792%.
