States raise Rs 24,086 crore through SGS auction; Gujarat rejects entire Rs 2,500 crore offering
Mumbai, Aug. 4 -- State governments and Union Territories collectively raised Rs 24,086.05 crore through the auction of State Government Securities (SGS) on Tuesday against the notified amount of Rs 26,850 crore. The shortfall was driven by Gujarat rejecting its entire Rs 2,500 crore offering, while Assam and Uttarakhand accepted partial amounts.
Assam accepted Rs 930.03 crore against the notified Rs 1,000 crore through the re-issue of 7.56% Assam SGS 2036, originally issued on 22 July 2026. The security was accepted at a price of Rs 99.79, implying a cut-off yield of 7.5897%.
