States raise Rs 21,350 crore through SGS auction; Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and West Bengal lead borrowing
Mumbai, July 7 -- State governments and Union Territories raised Rs 21,350 crore through the auction of State Government Securities (SGS) on Tuesday, with the total amount accepted matching the notified amount.
Madhya Pradesh emerged as the largest borrower, raising Rs 3,600 crore through two securities. The state borrowed Rs 1,600 crore through an 18-year security at a cut-off yield of 7.61%.
It also raised Rs 2,000 crore through the re-issue of the 7.90% Madhya Pradesh SGS 2056 at a cut-off price of Rs 102.90, corresponding to a yield of 7.6500%.
