Mumbai, June 11 -- COMEX Silver futures saw sustained losses as weakness in equities clubbed with worries over rising treasury yields hurt the commodity. Selling in Copper also impacted sentiments and COMEX Silver futures tanked near six-month low. The metal currently trades down 1% at $64.12 per ounce and has lost more than 7% this week. MCX Silver futures also lost 0.32% at Rs 234749 per kg. Silver has shaved up nearly 50% from its record highs. The metal is down around 15% this month. This week's selloff seems to be closely linked to weakness in equities as DOW lost around 2% yesterday, adding to its recent selling spree and testing three-week low.
