Mumbai, June 10 -- The domestic equity benchmarks continued to trade with modest gains in mid-afternoon trade, supported by gains in banking and FMCG stocks despite the latest escalation in the US-Iran conflict. Nifty traded above the 23,300 level. Financial services shares extended gains for a second consecutive trading session.

At 14:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, jumped 400.77 points or 0.54% to 74,325.18. The Nifty 50 index rose 79.40 points or 0.34% to 23,321.50.

The broader market underperformed the frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index fell 0.59% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index shed 0.61%.
