Mumbai, Oct. 21 -- The key equity benchmarks traded with modest cuts in morning trade. The Nifty traded above the 23,050 mark. IT shares advanced after declining in the past two trading sessions.

At 10:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex jumped 322.39 points or 0.44% to 74,171.64. The Nifty 50 index added 210.95 points or 0.92% to 23,099.90.

In the broader market, the BSE 150 MidCap Index declined 0.88% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index fell 1.25%.

The market breadth was weak. On the BSE, 1,108 shares rose and 2,736 shares fell. A total of 241 shares were unchanged.
