Mumbai, Aug. 26 -- The domestic equity benchmarks traded with minor cuts in the mid-afternoon trade. The Nifty traded below the 24,300 level. Consumer durables shares declined after advancing in the past trading session.

At 14:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, declined 45.54 points or 0.06% to 77,613.77. The Nifty 50 index lost 66.05 points or 0.27% to 24,271.60.

In the broader market, the BSE 150 MidCap Index rose 0.27% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index added 0.64%.

The market breadth was positive. On the BSE, 2,348 shares rose and 1,866 shares fell. A total of 238 shares were unchanged.

The Nifty Consumer Durables index declined 0.84% to 40,487.35. The index rose 0.93% in the past trading session.
