Mumbai, Sept. 8 -- The key equity benchmarks traded with modest cuts in early trade. The Nifty traded below the 23,700 level. IT, realty and auto shares declined, while metal stocks advanced on the NSE.

At 09:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, declined 370.87 points or 0.49% to 75,761.94. The Nifty 50 index lost 107.30 points or 0.45% to 23,678.55.

In the broader market, the BSE 150 MidCap Index fell 0.14% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index shed 0.10%.

The market breadth was positive. On the BSE, 1,557 shares rose and 1,552 shares fell. A total of 223 shares were unchanged.
