Mumbai, Sept. 10 -- The key equity benchmarks traded with minor gains in early trade. The Nifty traded above the 23,400 level. PSU bank, IT and media shares advanced, while pharma and metal stocks declined on the NSE.

At 09:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, added 41.83 points or 0.06% to 74,786.01. The Nifty 50 index rose 10.80 points or 0.05% to 23,442.30.

In the broader market, the BSE 150 MidCap Index rose 0.16% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index shed 0.03%.

The market breadth was negative. On the BSE, 1,835 shares rose and 1,263 shares fell. A total of 194 shares were unchanged.
