Mumbai, Oct. 9 -- The key equity benchmarks traded with modest gains in early trade. The Nifty traded above the 22,350 mark. Barring Pharma, all other sectoral indices traded in the green on the NSE.

At 09:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, jumped 401.59 points or 0.56% to 71,997.37. The Nifty 50 index rose 132.05 points or 0.59% to 22,363.85.

In the broader market, the BSE 150 MidCap Index added 0.32% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index fell 0.03%.

The market breadth was positive. On the BSE, 1,539 shares rose and 1,536 shares fell. A total of 208 shares were unchanged.
