Mumbai, Aug. 27 -- The key equity benchmarks traded with modest losses in mid-morning trade, weighed down by selling pressure in auto and FMCG shares. The Nifty traded below the 24,150 mark, while auto shares extended losses for the second consecutive trading session.

At 11:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, declined 288.54 points or 0.37% to 77,189.57. The Nifty 50 index lost 64.15 points or 0.27% to 24,142.55.

In the broader market, the BSE 150 MidCap Index fell 0.07% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index shed 0.05%.

The market breadth was positive. On the BSE, 1,752 shares rose and 2,181 shares fell. A total of 232 shares were unchanged.
