Mumbai, Oct. 19 -- The key equity benchmarks continued to trade with modest cuts in mid-morning trade. The Nifty traded below the 23,100 level. FMCG shares extended losses for the third consecutive trading session.

At 11:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex tanked 381.98 points or 0.54% to 74,347.29. The Nifty 50 index lost 91.80 points or 0.40% to 23,054.35.

In the broader market, the BSE 150 MidCap Index declined 0.32% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index fell 0.89%.

The market breadth was weak. On the BSE, 1,407 shares rose and 2,646 shares fell. A total of 274 shares were unchanged.
