Mumbai, Oct. 5 -- The key equity benchmarks traded with modest gains in mid-morning trade, tracking positive global cues after weaker US employment data, while elevated crude oil prices and Treasury yields capped gains and weighed on foreign flows into domestic equities. The Nifty traded above the 22,450 mark, while realty shares advanced after declining in the past trading session.

At 11:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, jumped 202.82 points or 0.28% to 72,077.22. The Nifty 50 index gained 51.25 points or 0.23% to 22,475.55.

In the broader market, the BSE 150 MidCap Index rose 0.18% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index shed 0.05%.
